Job Description:

The ideal candidate of (R&D) Research & Development Engineer typically has a Ph.D.’s degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, biotechnology, or a relevant field, along with 3+ years of experience.

Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills are essential, as is proficiency in mechanical and electrical engineering. Marketing and design experience, as well as project management skills, are preferred.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a (R&D) Research & Development Engineer include:

  • Meeting with business management, marketing, and the R&D team to discuss new product ideas and evaluate similar existing products.
  • Collaborating with the engineering and marketing departments to assess product feasibility and create functional design concepts.
  • Redesigning existing products to enhance functionality, reduce costs, and improve user experience.
  • Creating detailed design projects, specification sheets, and prototypes for new products.
  • Presenting product designs to management and stakeholders, and overseeing the engineering and testing of prototypes for functionality, ease-of-use, and longevity.
  • Resolving product issues, overseeing the production process, and ensuring high standards of sustainability and efficiency.
  • Conducting market research, translating design concepts into physical objects, and using computer design software like AutoCAD.
